FileBanc

this review is pending sponsorship from payperpost.

Did I mention PBX's computer crashed while we were away? Crashed as in, never to be restored. Totally dead. Many hours went into troubleshooting with tech support all over the world (seriously). A new hard drive was delivered this week. After that, more hours were spent downloading and installing drivers and applications. Programs that were downloaded after market are completely lost. Buh-bye MS Office. Not to mention a few great time-passing games that were paid in full. But more importantly, two years of work (and play) were wiped out - gone - JUST LIKE THAT.

The point of this post is to stress the importance of file backup! Lucky for us, we had put all of our files on an external hard drive about three or four months ago. But still, a lot of work was done in the last three months. None of which we will ever see again.

Could you imagine? Photos. Videos. Downloaded music. Screenplays. Story ideas. Personal notes. Name it - gone.

If we had known about FileBanc, nothing would've been lost. FileBanc is an online file backup system. The site is user-friendly. Sign-up is easy. It's affordable (some packages are free). And backing up your system takes anywhere from 20 seconds to 10 minutes a day (depending on the amount of information in your system). You can back up files from more than one computer on the same account. It's Windows and Mac compatible. Oh, and if you get five friends to sign up with this service, you get the Pro 500 Plan free for a year! I'm all about a bargain.
